A Call for candidates was launched on the 19th of December for members of the new Project Task Force on Climate-related Reporting.
The European Reporting Lab@EFRAG’s first project will be on climate-related reporting, consistent with the European Commission’s (EC) Action Plan Financing Sustainable Growth.
The Task Force will assess the current state of play for climate-related reporting by European companies and assess the current and potential use of climate-related information by investors and other users. The primary focus will be on the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures’ (TCFD) recommendations with consideration of other reporting frameworks as appropriate, while also taking account of the EC’s non-binding guidelines on non-financial reporting.
The European Reporting Lab@EFRAG is looking for candidates with practical experience, expertise and knowledge of climate-related reporting from companies of different sizes that engage in climate-related reporting, users (analysts and investors), civil society, accountancy profession and other relevant stakeholders.
The European Financial Reporting Advisory Group (EFRAG) is also gathering expressions of interest from those wishing to participate in future European Reporting Lab@EFRAG events. Those interested in participating in outreach events on climate-related reporting are also invited to express their interest.
The first meeting of the European Lab Project Task Force on Climate-related Reporting will be held on 26 February 2019.
