The inaugural London Squash Classic is set to take place at the stunning Alexandra Palace from March 27th to April 1st. This prestigious event relocates from its previous venue at Canary Wharf, where it consistently attracted record-breaking crowds over the years. The Dublin-based wealth management firm GillenMarkets has been announced as the title sponsor for this exciting tournament.
Replacing the Canary Wharf Classic on the PSA World Tour calendar, the GillenMarkets London Squash Classic promises to be London’s premier squash tournament. GillenMarkets, having sponsored the Canary Wharf Classic in both 2022 and 2023, will now take the spotlight as the headline sponsor for this new event.
Tournament Director Tim Garner expressed his excitement, stating, “Having worked closely with GillenMarkets over the past two years, we are thrilled to have secured them as the title sponsor for the inaugural staging of the London Squash Classic.”
Founder of GillenMarkets, Rory Gillen, echoed this sentiment, saying, “It was a privilege to be involved with the Canary Wharf Classic for its final 20 years, and we are delighted to continue our partnership with the transformation into the London Squash Classic at the iconic Alexandra Palace.”
The GillenMarkets London Squash Classic, classified as a PSA World Tour Gold tournament, will feature 48 of the world’s top male and female players vying for the coveted trophy. Matches from the early rounds will be hosted at Coolhurst Lawn Tennis & Squash Club, with later rounds, including the semi-finals and finals, taking place at Alexandra Palace.
The event will be broadcast live on SQUASHTV, with the semi-finals and finals also available through PSA’s broadcast partners.
